The Eel River golf course opened in 1984.

Large mature trees, along with well-positioned sand bunkers have also been incorporated into the course design, making shot accuracy a must. The Eel River golf course has ponds and the prevailing winds to add additional challenge. The signature hole is #1, a 349-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot up a dogleg left fairway, then an approach shot to a well-bunkered green.
